    Ingredients:

    Cake base:

    – Vegetable oil: 230 ml – Sugar: 350 g

    – Sponge cake flour: 350 g – Salt: 5 g

    – Eggs: 2 – Organic whole milk: 240 ml

    – Vanilla: 5 ml – Baking soda: 5 g

    – Vinegar: 7.5 ml – Cocoa powder: 10 g

    – Food coloring

    Frosting:

    – Flour: 25 g – Organic fresh milk: 240 ml

    – Vanilla: 5 ml – Butter: 230 g

    – Sugar: 200 g

    How to make the sponge cake:

    Before making the cake, preheat the oven to 190°C and brush butter onto parchment paper in the pan to prevent sticking.

    For the sponge cake you will prepare two mixtures:

    – Mixture 1: Sift the flour and salt to remove any lumps.

    – Mixture 2: Add the milk, eggs, vanilla, baking soda and vinegar and mix well together.

    Next, add the cocoa powder and food coloring and mix until the mixture becomes thick and smooth. Beat the sugar and shortening until very light and fluffy.

    Then gradually add the two mixtures (1 and 2) into the bowl, mixing a little at a time, followed by the cocoa and food coloring mixture. Mix well, pour into the prepared pan and bake for about 20 minutes until the cake is done, then remove it from the oven.

    Making the frosting:

    Whisk the flour and milk together, then heat over low heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens. Remove from the stove and add the vanilla.

    Beat the butter and sugar again until light and fluffy, then add the milk–flour mixture and continue beating until the mixture is smooth and creamy like whipped cream.

    Decorating the sponge cake:

    Spread the frosting evenly over the surface of the cake and use colorful fruit to decorate on top. A homemade sponge cake like this will be very meaningful for special occasions.
